Fund title: Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme
Focus of fund/fund aims:
Public sector organisations can apply for a grant to cover up to 100% of the costs of capital energy-saving projects
Public sector bodies which will require funding to be transferred between Government Departments at Supplementary Estimates must apply by 9 November 2020. For all other eligible organisations, the closing date is 11 January 2021.
The Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) provides grants for public-sector organisations to help make eligible buildings more energy efficient and install low-carbon heating measures.
The scheme is available for capital works within public sector non-domestic buildings. External consultancy and management fees may also be included. Grants can be spent on a range of measures to reduce carbon emissions such as insulation, glazing, heating controls, and heat pumps.
Applications are accepted from government departments, FE and HE institutions, local authorities, schools within the state education system, NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts and non-departmental public bodies.
There is no minimum or maximum grant value. Grants may be offered to cover up to 100% of project costs.
The scheme is also supported by the Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund. This fund is available to fund all eligible organisations which need support to develop applications, or deliver projects.
