Viridor Credits is one of the Landfill Communities Fund schemes which offers funding to local projects in parts of Devon. Find out more about the Landfill Communities Fund in Devon.
From 1 May 2019, non-profit organisations within ten miles of Viridor’s Heathfield landfill site in Devon can once again apply for funding to the Landfill Communities Fund, through Viridor Credits.
This is in response to the re-opening of the Heathfield landfill site to high-level waste (it closed in January 2016). The site is to reopen due to landfill tonnages in the area not decreasing as quickly as anticipated, coupled with the imminent closure of Broadpath landfill site near Uffculme.
Eligible applicants will soon be able to apply for up to £100,000 from Viridor Credits.
Applications for up to £50,0000 from Viridor Credits can also be made for projects within 10 miles of the Energy Recovery Facility in Exeter (EX2 8QE).
Viridor Credits also administers the Pennon Environmental Fund for projects in South West Water’s operating area that are within 10 miles of a landfill site.
