Fund title: JPI Climate: Solstice
Focus of fund/fund aims:
Funding for interdisciplinary transnational research initiatives that provide useful insights into the impact of climate change on society
Outline proposals: 9 January 2020. Full proposals: 3 February 2020.
JPI (Joint Programming Initiative) Climate, a European initiative for joint climate research activities, has launched a new call for proposals: Solstice. Researchers and institutions from the social sciences and humanities community are invited to submit collaborative proposals that address the societal aspects of climate change.
The Solstice programme is seeking interdisciplinary contributions from consortia, which should consist of scientists from at least three participating countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Norway and the United Kingdom.
Projects are expected to consider the impact of climate change and policies to address climate change on people’s perceptions, attitudes and behaviour, taking into account differences in society such as economic, cultural and generational differences.
Through this scheme, each funding organisation funds its own national researchers: the Economic & Social Research Council is providing approximately €1.5million for UK participants from which it expects to fund 3-6 projects. Payments will be made in pounds sterling at 80% of the full economic costs of the project.
