Foyle Foundation

The Foyle Foundation is an independent grant-making trust that distributes grants to UK charities and schools. It has announced that it will end its grants programmes next year but will continue to accept applications for projects that can be completed by the end of 2025.

There are three grants schemes:

Main Grants Scheme – supporting charities whose core work covers arts and learning.

Arts projects should support the visual or performing arts and activities can include helping to make the arts more accessible, encouraging new work and supporting young and emerging artists. Note that community arts activity is not generally supported.

Learning projects should facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and have a long-term strategic impact. Funding can be granted to libraries, museums and archives, projects to support special educational needs and university-led projects with a clear public benefit.

Small Grants Scheme
Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 for small charities in all fields for core costs, projects, essential equipment or building projects.

School Library Scheme
This is the main funding route for schools, with priority given to primary schools and special schools. Most grants are for books and reading materials. See separate DFN entry for the Foyle School Library Scheme.

Focus of fund/fund aims:
