Fund title: Esmée Fairbairn: Sustaining Engagement with Collections
Focus of fund/fund aims:
Support for new work with museum collections in response to the impact of COVID-19
26 May 2020
The Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund supports museums and galleries in the UK with activities relating to the management and conservation of their collections.
In response to the current difficulties facing museums, the fund is diverting £350,000 to a new type of small grant, Sustaining Engagement with Collections, which will offer grants of up to £30,000 for projects of up to a year. The aim is to support 12-15 organisations to explore different ways of engaging with collections while physical access is not available or is severely limited.
Potential applicants are encouraged to think about experimental or innovative interventions with collections online, and/or collections work that will put the museum in a stronger position when it is able to reopen.
Museums and galleries should also note that there are some changes to the deadlines for existing funding streams from the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund.
