Fund description:

There are five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) either wholly or partly within Devon. Most of these offer grant schemes to support projects that bring social, environmental and/or economic benefits to their area, depending on the availability of funding. New funding for 2021/22 has been announced in the following areas:

Blackdown Hills AONB – grants of up to £2,000 for projects that benefit the environment, communities and businesses in the Blackdown Hills AONB and promote understanding and enjoyment of the area. More information about the 2021/22 round coming soon.

East Devon AONB – the Communities Project Fund provides grants of up to £4,000 for local initiatives and projects that can demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the local area. This includes nature and wildlife, local heritage and culture, and improving village features, facilities or networks. Apply by 30 November 2021

North Devon Coast AONB – grants of between £100 and £4,000 to support communities, organisations and businesses with projects to benefit the local area. The priority themes for 2021/22 include landscape & seascape, biodiversity, historic environment & culture, sustainable rural & visitor economy and access, health & wellbeing. There is a particular focus on Nature & Wildlife and Farming & Land Management. Projects must be completed by the end of February 2022.
