Creative Europe is the EU fund for Europe’s cultural, creative and audiovisual sectors. It provides funding for a broad range of creative, cultural and heritage organisations working across any art form, such as visual arts, dance, theatre, literature, performance, music, heritage, architecture, design, circus, festivals, craft and fashion.
There are two main sub-programmes –
- ‘Media’ for film, TV, new media and video games, including audience development, film distribution and cinema networks
- ‘Culture’ for collaborative projects and initiatives, including festivals, exhibitions, skills development in the cultural sector and literary translation.
A small-scale transnational co-operation project can be set up between 3 partners in 3 different European countries but networks and platforms require partnerships covering at least 10 different countries.
There are various deadlines for the different strands.
UK applicants can find out more about the programme and receive free advice and support with their project from the Creative Europe Desk UK.
Please note that the UK will continue to participate in Creative Europe as normal until it leaves the EU. The UK Treasury will underwrite the payments of multi-annual projects selected for support while the UK is still a member of the EU even if the projects continue beyond the UK’s exit from the EU.
