Fund title: Creating Digital Tech for Vulnerable People isolated by COVID-19
Focus of fund/fund aims:
UK innovators and technology companies who can support the elderly, vulnerable and self-isolating during COVID-19 are invited to apply for government funding of up to £25,000 to test their solution
1 April 2020
The TechForce19 Challenge has been launched to provide funding for innovators who can find digital ways of supporting vulnerable people during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
From an overall programme budget of £500,000, selected companies will receive funding of up to £25,000 to develop or test their COVID-19 solution.
The programme is looking for digital solutions that can be launched in the next few weeks, and could include:
- providing remote social care – for example, by locating and matching qualified carers to those in need
- optimising the volunteer sector – for example, by developing tools to recruit, train and coordinate local volunteers into clinical and non-clinical workers
- improving mental health support – for example, by making it easier to discover and deliver mental health services and support
- any other solutions to ease pressures on services and people during this time
Innovators and technology companies from across the UK may apply. Successful applicants will be selected based on solution feasibility, company credibility, impact and digital maturity.
