Fund description:

Community Led Homes is a partnership project between four leading housing charities. It provides a range of support, advice and funding to support local people to develop community-led housing in their area.

The Community Led Homes website sets out the grants that are available to support community housing projects at each stage: start-up; site and plan; and build stage.

To support this work, the government has announced an allocation of £6million over the next two years to help community-led housing projects. Part of the funding will be used to support early-stage projects through a new programme to be delivered by Community Led Homes:

The Community Led Homes Start-Up Support Programme aims to help early-stage voluntary and community organisations exploring options for community-led housing.

The programme consists of:

  • Seed Corn Costs – up to £4,000 to cover the early-stage costs of getting a project off the ground.
  • One-to-one mentoring and advice through a local Community Led Housing Enabler Hub
  • Support Costs – up to £6,000 to commission advice and support from a housing adviser if the support is not available through a local Community Led Housing Enabler Hub.
