A learning programme and a grant of up to £10,000 to help community businesses to grow
2 December 2020
This programme is intended for community businesses that are looking to increase their sales and trading so that they can become more sustainable.
The programme is run by School for Social Entrepreneurs, in partnership with Power to Change. It is aimed at leaders of early-stage community businesses such as CICs, Charitable Incorporated Organisations, Community Benefit Societies etc. Businesses must have a charitable purpose and carry out activities that have a positive social impact in the local community.
Priority will be given to businesses that support deprived areas, are BAME-led or support BAME communities.
Successful applicants will benefit from a learning programme of 12 days spread over nine months and a grant of up to £10,000 (to match the income generated from trading), together with opportunities to make connections with other community businesses.
The Community Business Trade Up Programme runs from April 2021 to December 2021. There will be a mix of in-person and online learning with courses taking place in five locations across England, including the South West.
