Community Hedge Fund
Close the Gap is a year-long project funded by Defra to encourage bigger, healthier, better-connected hedgerows. As part of Close the Gap, The Tree Council is launching a Community Hedge Fund to provide grants for hedgerow and hedgerow tree planting in communities in cities, towns, and rural areas across England.
The fund is for volunteer Tree Wardens and other community groups to plant new hedgerows, new hedgerow trees and to gap up existing hedgerows this Winter 2021/22. Planting can be in rural or urban areas on private or public land where the community will benefit.
You can apply for grants between £150 and £2,500.
Farmers Hedge Fund
There is separate Close the Gap funding available for farmers/landowners to plant new hedges and close gaps in existing hedges on farmland. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org. This fund is being operated by the Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group.
