The EU Floods Directive 2007 was interpreted into the England and Wales legislation Flood Risk Regulations 2009 (Regulations) and the Flood and Water Management Act 2010 (Act).<\/p>\n<div Framework<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Community Level Plans<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table><\/div>\n<p>The Regulations identify and take action in areas with the most significant flood risks and require the following to be produced:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A preliminary Flood Risk Assessment Report providing a high level overview of flood risk from local flood risk sources and identifying the Flood Risk Areas (no Flood Risk Areas were identified in Devon County Council&#8217;s administrative area)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Flood hazard maps and flood risk maps for Flood Risk Areas<\/li>\n<li>Flood risk management plans for Flood Risk Areas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The purpose of the Act is to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduce the concept of flood risk management and the framework for the delivery of flood and coastal erosion risk management through national and local strategies<\/li>\n<li>Provide new definitions, for example \u201cflood\u201d, \u201csurface runoff\u201d, \u201cRisk Management Authorities\u201d, Lead Local Flood Authority\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Establish the roles and responsibilities of the different risk management authorities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can
