Audit of Accounts, year ended 31 March 2024
Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 and the Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2021 and 2022

Notice is given that the unaudited statement of accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024 will be published on the Council’s website by 31 May.

The statement of accounts is unaudited and may be subject to change.

Notice is also given that from 3 June to 12 July any persons interested may inspect the accounts of Devon County Council and Devon Pension Fund for the year ended 31 March 2024 on the Council’s website or inspect a printed copy held at reception in County Hall, Exeter.

Any persons interested may inspect and make copies of the accounting records of Devon County Council and Devon Pension Fund for the year ended 31 March 2024 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other documents relating to those records. Section 26(4) to 26(6) of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 exempts commercially confidential and personal information. Application should be made initially at the email address devonfinanceservices-mailbox@devon.gov.uk
or telephone 01392 383311, from 3 June to 12 July 2024 between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Notice is also given that from 3 June to 12 July 2024, (Monday to Friday), at the request of a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, the local auditor will give the elector or his/her representative an opportunity to:

  • question the auditor about the accounting records; and
  • make written objections as to any matter in respect of which the auditor could take action under Section 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014:
    i) any item of account which is alleged to be contrary to law; and
    ii) any matter in respect of which it is proposed that the auditor could make a public interest report
