This bar chart illustrates the gap in average hourly rate for men and women.
Up to age 40 the gap is very small. Females under 20 are paid a higher average hourly rate, it then evens out between the age of 20 and 29 while males earn a slightly higher rate between 30 and 39.
The gap between male and female hourly rate is most significant from the age of 40 up to the age of 80. The biggest gaps comes in the 50 to 59 and 60 to 69 age ranges.
