{"id":20048,"date":"2026-06-25T09:29:25","date_gmt":"2026-06-25T08:29:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/eycs\/?p=20048"},"modified":"2026-06-25T09:54:54","modified_gmt":"2026-06-25T08:54:54","slug":"funding-friday-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/eycs\/funding-friday-21\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Gibbons Family Trust<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gibbonstrusts.org.uk\/gibbons-family-trust\/\" rel=\"noopener\">The Gibbons Family Trust<\/a> awards grants to improve quality of life for young people up to the age of 25 who are in financial need.\u00a0 Funding can be used for the care, benefit, support and education of young people: this can include, for example, sports, community groups and activities, essential educational items for SEND.<\/p>\n<p>The beneficiaries must be living in Devon, with priority given to East Devon.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are accepted both from not-for-profit organisations and schools, as well as professionals applying on behalf of individuals.<\/p>\n<p>The Trustees meet every two months to discuss applications. The next deadline is 30 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gibbonstrusts.org.uk\/gibbons-family-trust\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Grants Spending \u2013 Gibbons Family Trust \u2013 The Gibbons Trusts<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Cardfactory Foundation<\/h2>\n<p>Registered charities that provide vital support to people and communities in need can apply for a \u00a310,000 grant from the <a href=\"https:\/\/cardfactoryfoundation.org.uk\/our-funds\/the-local-community-fund\/\" rel=\"noopener\">cardfactory Foundation<\/a>. The goal is to address immediate needs while helping communities and individuals build long-term stability and resilience.<\/p>\n<p>The funding is for organisations that are working in the foundation\u2019s three priority areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Families experiencing financial hardship: supporting families who are struggling to meet everyday costs such as food, housing, clothing and essential household needs<\/li>\n<li>People facing sudden hardship or crisis: helping individuals and families who need urgent support due to unexpected life events such as bereavement, illness, job loss or other crisis situations<\/li>\n<li>Vulnerable children and young peoples: supporting charities that provide safe spaces, practical support and opportunities that help children and young people thrive, particularly those facing disadvantage or instability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You need to choose one primary priority area for your application but the funding is an unrestricted grant to support core operations.<\/p>\n<p>Registered charities can apply. The foundation is particularly keen to support smaller, local charities where a \u00a310,000 grant will deliver real impact.<\/p>\n<p>Application deadline: 3 July 2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cardfactoryfoundation.org.uk\/our-funds\/the-local-community-fund\/\" rel=\"noopener\">The Local Community Fund &#8211; Card Factory<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Hugo Burge Foundation<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hugoburgefoundation.org\/grants\" rel=\"noopener\">Hugo Burge Foundation<\/a> is dedicated to supporting the arts, crafts and creative industries across the UK.<\/p>\n<p>Grant funding is distributed through three separate programmes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Creative Education \u2013 up to \u00a315,000 for organisations that are creating opportunities for young people (0-29) to engage and build their creative skills and knowledge. Applicants can include schools, local authorities, community groups, charities, museum\/gallery spaces, educational institutions and arts organisations.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Creative Communities \u2013 up to \u00a315,000 for developing and delivering initiatives that focus on culture and creative arts in the local area. Organisations such as festivals, charities, arts organisations, and community groups can apply.<\/li>\n<li>Creative Individuals \u2013 up to \u00a35,000 for individuals seeking support for the development of artistic projects or practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Hugo Burge Foundation will generally provide unrestricted funding for organisations that are having an impact in the cultural sector, so that they can become more resilient and effective.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hugoburgefoundation.org\/grants\" rel=\"noopener\">Application deadline: 31 July 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Early Education Partnerships<\/h2>\n<p>The Department for Education is inviting applications for funding for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/early-education-partnerships-funding\" rel=\"noopener\"> Early Education Partnerships<\/a>: up to 100 partnerships of early-years providers and state-funded primary schools will receive funding to help them to work together, share resources, knowledge and expertise, and prepare children for starting reception. The focus is on children with special educational needs and disabilities, additional needs and disadvantaged backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>The aims are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>strengthen transitions from early years settings to school<\/li>\n<li>improve reception readiness<\/li>\n<li>build the evidence base for effective early years transitions and reception readiness practice and embed this across the sector<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can select from four priority areas to help shape the activities for your partnership:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuity of learning<\/li>\n<li>Professional development and shared practice<\/li>\n<li>Family engagement<\/li>\n<li>Information and resource sharing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/early-education-partnerships-funding\" rel=\"noopener\">Applications are now being accepted<\/a> for Year 1 \u2013 the development phase of the programme, running from September 2026 to March 2027. Grants range from \u00a312,500 to \u00a350,000, depending on the size of your partnership.<\/p>\n<p>Partnerships may include nurseries, childminders, maintained nursery schools and school-based nurseries working with primary schools.
