{"id":19832,"date":"2026-05-21T10:08:18","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T09:08:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/eycs\/?p=19832"},"modified":"2026-05-21T10:09:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T09:09:05","slug":"funding-friday-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/eycs\/funding-friday-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding Friday"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Devon County Council: Locality Budgets 2026\/27<\/h2>\n<p>Each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/democracy\/councillors-info\/locality-budgets\/\">County Councillor in Devon has a Locality Budget<\/a> allocation of \u00a310,000 that they can use in this financial year (until March 2027) to support local projects.<\/p>\n<p>County Councillors can use their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/democracy\/councillors-info\/locality-budgets\/\">Locality Budget<\/a> to support projects that benefit the local community and support the priorities of the County Council\u2019s Strategic Plan which are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>positive futures for our young people<\/li>\n<li>supporting independence and dignity<\/li>\n<li>a green Devon for future generations<\/li>\n<li>economic inclusion and local prosperity<\/li>\n<li>stronger communities and safer places<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications are accepted from constituted, non-profit voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations, town and parish councils, charities, community groups, school PTFAs or businesses. You can find <a href=\"https:\/\/democracy.devon.gov.uk\/mgMemberIndex.aspx?FN=ALPHA&amp;VW=LIST&amp;PIC=0\" rel=\"noopener\">contact details for your County Councillor here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Projects must be completed and funding spent by the end of March 2027<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Hall &amp; Woodhouse Community Chest<\/h2>\n<p>Voluntary and community organisations can apply for a small grant for activities that help to strengthen their community and improve their local area.<\/p>\n<p>Grants of \u00a3300 to \u00a33,000 are available from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk\/about-us\/community-chest\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Hall &amp; Woodhouse Community Chest<\/a> which has a total of \u00a380,000 in 2026 from the Hall &amp; Woodhouse pub chain. The funding is for volunteer-led organisations in the H&amp;W trading area which includes Devon. Note that there are H&amp;W pubs in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Axmouth<\/li>\n<li>Beer<\/li>\n<li>Bovey Tracey<\/li>\n<li>Cranbrook<\/li>\n<li>Kingskerswell<\/li>\n<li>Lynmouth<\/li>\n<li>Shaldon<\/li>\n<li>Topsham<\/li>\n<li>Widecombe in the Moor<\/li>\n<li>Woolacombe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Projects can include activities to support young people, sports clubs, elderly and people with disability, health, arts and the environment. The grants can be used towards things such as equipment and furniture, training, transport, professional assistance, specific project resources or operational costs.<\/p>\n<p>Funding will be awarded in January 2027. Application deadline: 12 July 2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk\/about-us\/community-chest\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Community Chest &#8211; Hall and Woodhouse<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Tesco Fruit and Veg Grants<\/h2>\n<p>Schools, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations supporting children can apply for up to \u00a31,500 to improve access to healthy food. Tesco has launched the new Fruit and Veg Grants scheme to replace Tesco Stronger Starts which has now closed.<\/p>\n<p>Fruit and Veg Grants are for initiatives that use nutritious food to help ensure that children and young people have a healthy diet. This could include providing fruit or healthy snacks in school, helping to provide breakfast or holiday clubs, cooking projects or gardening initiatives so that young people can grow their own fruit and vegetables.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme will provide grants of up to \u00a31,500. Every four months, three local good causes will be selected for the blue token customer vote in Tesco stores throughout the UK.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tescoplc.com\/sustainability\/communities\/fruit-and-veg-grants\" rel=\"noopener\">Blue Token Scheme &#8211; Tesco Fundraising | Tesco PLC<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Crisis and Resilience Fund<\/h2>\n<p>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/cost-of-living\/cost-of-living\/benefits-money-and-debt\/crisis-and-resilience-fund\/\">Crisis and Resilience Fund<\/a> is now in place to support low-income households in Devon who face sudden financial difficulty.<\/p>\n<p>The fund replaces the Household Support Fund, which ended in March 2026. The new fund offers targeted support for low\u2011income households experiencing an unexpected financial shock, such as a sudden loss of income or an essential cost they cannot afford.<\/p>\n<p>Support includes crisis payments for people in immediate need, including help for low-income households that rely on heating oil.
