This is a fantastic opportunity to boost childcare availability and support working families across the county.<\/p>\n<h2>Flexible funding to meet local needs<\/h2>\n<p>Providers can now access funding even for partial hours, making it easier for smaller or rural settings to participate.<\/p>\n<h2>To qualify<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Breakfast clubs<\/strong> must run at least 30 minutes before school<\/li>\n<li><strong>After-school clubs<\/strong> must run at least 90 minutes after school<\/li>\n<li>Provision must operate <strong>at least 3 days a week<\/strong>, both before and after school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What\u2019s available?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Schools and PVIs offering a full wraparound service (17.5 hours\/week) could receive up to \u00a338,000 over five terms<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re already delivering before- and after-school childcare and have the space and staffing to grow, you could apply for \u00a3200 for each new childcare place created, plus \u00a31000 expansion grant<\/li>\n<li>Childminders launching new wraparound services can claim a \u00a3600 start-up grant, plus \u00a3200 per childcare place created<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Funding should<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Respond to local demand<\/li>\n<li>Increase childcare places<\/li>\n<li>Be flexible in delivery and location<\/li>\n<li>Include exceptions for special schools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Delivery options<\/h2>\n<p>Childcare can be delivered on, or off a school site. Schools unable to run provision directly can partner with private providers.<\/p>\n<h2>Key dates<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Funding is available for up to five terms, with a review after the first year<\/li>\n<li><strong>Applications close February 2026 \u2013 act now!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>All funded childcare must start before 31st March 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to apply<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u2019s simple!
