New learners enrolling on a qualification from September 2024 should check whether it is listed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/early-years-qualifications-achieved-in-england\" rel=\"noopener\">early years qualifications list<\/a> (EYQL).<\/p>\n<p>Awarding organisations and training providers are currently updating qualifications to meet <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/media\/65844707ed3c34000d3bfd40\/Early_years_qualification_requirements_and_standards_-_Jan_24.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\">the new criteria<\/a> to be assessed by Department for Education (DfE) and added to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/early-years-qualifications-achieved-in-england\" rel=\"noopener\">early years qualifications list<\/a> (EYQL) as approved qualifications by September 2024.<\/p>\n<p>DfE will be adding qualifications to the EYQL over the coming months as they become approved.<\/p>\n<p>Early years providers are responsible for ensuring their staff hold approved qualifications to work within the staff:child ratios.
