Research has shown the impact on children, particularly the youngest and most disadvantaged children, has been far reaching and will potentially be long term.<\/p>\n<p>The Department for Education has recognised the impact and is offering a childminder mentor programme to childminders across England to support them to narrow the gap between disadvantaged children and others. This is part of the Government\u2019s Early Years COVID-19 Recovery Programme.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"Hyperlink SCXW95293785 BCX8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/childminder-mentor-programme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span class=\"TextRun Underlined SCXW95293785 BCX8\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW95293785 BCX8\">Childminder mentor programme \u2013 GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)<\/span><\/span><\/a><span class=\"EOP SCXW95293785 BCX8\" data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true,&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What support will I get?<\/h2>\n<p>The support is free for one term (mainly virtual) and it is tailored to your needs which may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improving confidence in or knowledge of child development<\/li>\n<li>Planning an effective curriculum<\/li>\n<li>Supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)<\/li>\n<li>Supporting children with English as an additional language (EAL)<\/li>\n<li>Building strong relationships with parents and carers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note it does not provide support with complying with the EYFS Safeguarding and Welfare requirements.<\/p>\n<h2>How do I apply?<\/h2>\n<p>Applications are open now for the Spring 2024 term.
