They are \u2018change agents\u2019 to improve practice. EYPs \/ EYTs\u00a0lead practice across the Early Years Foundation Stage, support and mentor other practitioners and model the skills and behaviours that safeguard and support children. EYPs \/ EYTs have helped to improve the quality of early education which has been recognised by the government and has helped to shape future developments.<\/p>\n<p>Please note EYPs \/ EYTs do not hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac2\" id=\"head2\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac2\">Early years teacher training providers <\/a><div id=\"mac2\" aria-labelledby=\"head2\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" >\n<p>A list of approved Early years teacher training providers across the country for September intake is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/early-years-initial-teacher-training-itt-providers\/early-years-initial-teacher-training-itt-providers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department for Education website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please contact a training provider for more information.<\/p>\n<p>Early years teacher training providers include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The University of St Mark and St John (Marjons) offer training at their Plymouth campus. This includes ensuring that setting SENDCos can effectively meet the needs of all children, supporting them to meet the national and local requirements. To ensure that there is equity of access to services for all children in receipt of Early Years Education Funding (EYEF) the Area SENDCo role also includes support for academy and maintained nurseries as well as governor run provision.<\/p>\n<p>We provide:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>General inclusion support to setting\/school SENDCo and EYFS practitioners<\/li>\n<li>Specific support for settings\/schools relating to individual children with additional needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>EYCs will offer advice to Early Years SENDCos and relevant staff including the key person relating to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promoting an inclusive environment<\/li>\n<li>Implementing the graduated response<\/li>\n<li>Becoming a new SENDCo<\/li>\n<li>Signposting to other agencies<\/li>\n<li>Completing appropriate referral forms and inclusion funding forms<\/li>\n<li>Training, including regular SENDCo forums<\/li>\n<li>Safeguarding concerns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac4\" id=\"head4\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac4\">Early years SENDCo training providers <\/a><div id=\"mac4\" aria-labelledby=\"head4\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" >\n<p>The early years SENDCo qualification is for a Level 3 practitioners working in a private, voluntary or independent setting. It is also appropriate for childminders.
