We recommend you contact your local council for advice during your business planning stage and before you apply to Ofsted:<\/p>\n The Early Years and Childcare Service run regular ‘Preparing to be a childminder’ information sessions that will prepare you for your Ofsted registration.<\/p>\n The session will provide you with the information that you will need to decide childminding is for you. It includes who needs to register, what you need to consider, set up costs, being self-employed, the Early Years Foundation Stage, Ofsted\u2019s role, signposting to further training and documents and where you can get support.<\/p>\n The session is delivered as a virtual course (consisting of a 4 hour virtual session delivered through Microsoft Teams), you will need a tablet or laptop to access the session.<\/p>\n Dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n Cost: \u00a325 per person.<\/p>\n You must also attend a recognised Paediatric First Aid course (which Devon Early Years run at a cost of \u00a380 per person) and a Safeguarding Core course (fully funded through Devon Early Years).
