{"id":14580,"date":"2023-08-23T14:08:47","date_gmt":"2023-08-23T13:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/eycs\/?page_id=14580"},"modified":"2026-01-07T12:10:39","modified_gmt":"2026-01-07T12:10:39","slug":"providerselfupdate","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/eycs\/for-providers\/providerselfupdate\/","title":{"rendered":"Provider Self Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"accordion \" data-accordion data-allow-all-closed=\"true\" data-multi-expand=\"true\" ><li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac1\" id=\"head1\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac1\">What is the Provider Self Update? <\/a><div id=\"mac1\" aria-labelledby=\"head1\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" >\n<p>The Provider Self Update (PSU) is a data collection tool for gathering information about early years and childcare provision that will be used by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Early Years and Childcare Service (part of Devon County Council) for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/eycs\/for-providers\/childcare-sufficiency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">assessing the sufficiency of provision<\/a> and<\/li>\n<li>will be published to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.findchildcareindevon.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Find Childcare in Devon<\/a> (a searchable directory of childcare) for parents to view information about your services (depending on your consent levels). This is a tool for you to <strong>advertise your business<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Assessing the sufficiency of provision and providing information to parents are both statutory duties for Devon County Council as set out in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/early-education-and-childcare--2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Early education and childcare: Statutory guidance for local authorities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<li class=\"accordion-item\" data-accordion-item>\r\n<a href=\"#mac2\" id=\"head2\" role=\"tab\" class=\"accordion-title\" aria-controls=\"mac2\">What do I need to do? <\/a><div id=\"mac2\" aria-labelledby=\"head2\" class=\"accordion-content\" data-tab-content><div class=\"targetclass\" >\n<p>Every provider will need to complete the Provider Self Update for each service offered (e.g. breakfast club, day nursery, after school club, holiday club). <strong>Initially<\/strong> this will take <strong>approximately 20 minutes<\/strong> for each service. After that you will only need to make updates as and when your service offer changes. For example, you change your opening hours, or change your charges. <strong>Making changes<\/strong> will only take a <strong>few minutes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funded providers<\/strong> are asked to check their details <strong>once a term<\/strong>.
