Update on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – Early Years and Childcare Providers (excluding schools)
We are awaiting further supplies of PPE and expect more will be available to us sometime in the next couple of weeks. Once known to us we will inform you of the delivery methods.
Please refrain from making new arrangements for collection; if you already have an appoint organised this will be honoured but no new collections should be organised. There have been issues with the delivery of the sanitiser in some areas and we hope to improve the system when further supplies are in place.
In the interim, the best protective action remains hand washing for 20 seconds. Hand washing with soap employs mechanical action that loosens bacteria and viruses from the skin, rinsing them into the drain. Drying hands afterwards makes the skin less hospitable to the virus. Hand sanitiser can be effective if soap is not available or the situation makes using soap less feasible (i.e. when outside) but using hand sanitiser provides none of the virus-destroying friction that rubbing your hands together and rinsing with water provides.
