Virtual funding awareness session – How to make a Disability Access Funding (DAF) Application

This is a short awareness session regarding the application process for Disability Access Funding covering completion of the parental consent form, evidence required and how to apply through the Provider Portal. The sessions will also cover when applications should be made and payment of the allowance.

Safeguarding Children Awareness (Group 2)

This course aims to raise awareness of the need for child protection and to have a knowledge and understanding of relevant procedures. These workshops are suitable for all those working in the early years and childcare (level 2).
It can be undertaken either as eLearning, a virtual session or a face-to-face session. Needs to be refreshed every 3 years.

Early Years Child Protection Refresher (Group 3) training

This refresher course is for delegates who have already undertaken the DCFP Multi-Agency Safeguarding and Child Protection (Group 3 Core) training and need to update their knowledge. This refresher training is for people with child protection responsibilities e.g. Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy.

The training will be delivered via x2 eLearning modules, a digital quiz and a 3.5 hour taught virtual session via Microsoft Teams or face to face session.

Safeguarding Forum (virtual)

A remote session via Microsoft Teams where early years safeguarding leads can get together and discuss safeguarding issues, changes in legislation, seek advice, hear from other agencies and network with colleagues. These forums offer practical advice and support with the aim of providing you with more confidence to carry out your role as a Designated /Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

EFR Mental Health First Aid Awareness Training

This training will help you to spot the early signs of mental ill health and play your part in providing early support to someone who may be at risk of developing serious mental health issues. It provides participants with the ability to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek professional help.

Early Years – How to support children’s learning in the continuous provision (online)

Within the Development Matters, key features of effective practice; 4 – Pedagogy: helping children to learn, it states:

  • Practitioners carefully organise enabling environments for high-quality play. Sometimes, they make time and space available for children to invent their own play. Sometimes, they join in to sensitively support and extend children’s learning.
  • A well-planned learning environment, indoors and outside, is an important aspect of pedagogy.

This course will explore these statements in more depth and enable practitioners to understand their role in supporting children’s learning in the continuous provision.
