The new Purple Ticket for families that may be eligible for 2yo funding!
Following feedback from providers, we know the blank Golden Tickets caused confusion as they were directing parents to make an Application for 2 year old funding on the Citizen’s Portal and are not automatically eligible like those with MM or ZZ numbers.
These will now be easy to identify with the new Purple Ticket:
If a parent comes to you with one of these tickets they need to complete the online application to check for eligibility. Parents will have a TYF application reference but you will need to see this on a copy of the letter confirming they are eligible for funding. The number alone is not sufficient.
Some families may need some assistance and can contact the Customer Service Desk on 0345 155 1013 or you may help them set-up a Citizen’s Portal Account and run the check with them.
The Golden Tickets
Blank Golden Tickets – These are being replaced with the Purple Ticket above but there are still some out there in circulation until Autumn Term where parents need to complete the Application on the Citizen’s Portal.
MM Golden Tickets – These are working well and you just need to ensure that the date of birth of the child is within the MM number.
ZZ Golden Tickets – These are being phased out. Autumn Term will be the last term any eligible child will arrive with a ZZ number. You need to email details of a ZZ number to the Helpdesk with the name of the child, dob and start date.
Funding may also be approved via the Citizen’s Portal if a child:
- Is in receipt of Disability Living Allowance
- Has an current statement of special education needs or has an Education, Health and Care Plan
- Is in foster care from another Local Authority
- Or has left care through Special Guardianship, Adoption or Residence Order.
Parents will need to attach a copy of their evidence to their application.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADVISE THE HELPDESK OF AN “MM” OR “TYF” NUMBER AS WE WILL ALREADY HAVE THE PUPIL INFORMATION. SIMPLY ADD TO THE HEADCOUNT IN THE NORMAL WAY DURING THE HEADCOUNT / AMENDMENT TASK.
