The Goodie Box: free recipe kit and activity box for families over Easter

Devon County Council are running a one-off initiative over Easter called the Goodie Box, where families can receive a delivery directly to their door with some exciting new recipes to try as a family, along with the food to make them.  The box will also contain cress seeds to grow together, an activity book and top tips on how to stay healthy, prevent food waste and other support available.

What is the Goodie Box and why are we doing it?

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a year of difficulty for many people. We hope the Goodie Box can give families some fun activities for them to do together and ideas for new recipes to try out with the food included, which are tasty, nutritious, and affordable. It also contains some great tips on how to stay healthy, prevent food waste and other support available that may be of interest.

Eligibility:

There is no specific eligibility for the initiative – we are relying on organisations to identify families currently experiencing challenging times, including those disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Goodie Box is aimed at families with children aged 0-5, but orders for families with older children will also be accepted if there is a need.

We would very much appreciate it if children’s centres and early years settings could discuss the offer with families who might benefit and order on their behalf using the Goodie Box order form.

Please ensure families are aware of the contents of the Goodie Box before ordering to help prevent food waste!
