Park Hill in the Community

The article below gives you a flavour of what the children and workers at Park Hill in Tiverton have been doing in their local community. We would love to hear from you if you have similar experiences to share.

“Here at Park Hill we are very strong believers that education should not be limited to our setting and that there are lessons to learn and experiences to be had in our local community. Our locale is ideally suited to allow for us to spend a lot of time exploring in the natural beauty of the canal and making the most of experiencing the diverse nature living along it. we take weekly trips along this to the basin, often with a magnifying glass in hand.

Our physical development is also extended through our visits to local parks and Monster Mansion in Tiverton. We have developed a relationship with the management at the soft play centre which allows for discounted entry. For the past year we have also developed links with Exe Valley Leisure centre and through the support of a local taxi company we have run a weekly water confidence session for our three year olds.

Finally, we have also built a strong relationship with the Larches Care Home in Tiverton. We have been to visit the service users there and have exchanged baked goods and cards at key holiday times. Some of the residents also visited us for our Nativity in December. This relationship definitely benefits both the children and the residents, who are always very welcoming and excited to see us when we visit.”
