NEW National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Early Years Leadership

The Department for Education (DfE) have introduced a set of revised and new National Professional Qualifications (NPQ’s) that are fully funded for staff in schools and early years settings. The early years programme will start in January 2023.

We are working in partnership with South West Institute for Teaching and Teach First to deliver the NPQ for Early Years Leadership.

Early years practitioners and leaders working in the following settings in England will be eligible for a fully funded place through the DfE for the NPQEYL only:

  • Work in a state funded school in England
  • Childcare providers registered on the Ofsted Early Years Register, providing childcare on non-domestic premises
  • Childcare providers registered on the Ofsted Early Years Register, providing childcare on domestic premises
  • Childminders registered on the Ofsted Early Years Register
  • Childminders registered with an Ofsted-registered childminder agency, caring for early years’ children.
