Multi-Agency Safeguarding and Child Protection (Group 3 Core)

We have adapted our face to face training so that the Group 3 Safeguarding and Child Protection Course is now delivered virtually.

It is a blend of digital, online, e-learning and home study. Our first courses will be delivered this month as a pilot and we have got 12 places available so would like to offer you, or one of your colleagues a place.

This course is suitable for staff and volunteers who work with children, young people, families and parents or carers where they are in a position to identify signs of child abuse or neglect and who may then be asked to contribute to assessing, planning or intervening and reviewing the needs of the child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns. This course is suitable for Designated Safeguarding Officers and Deputies.

Instead of a whole day, this course is split into two parts – and you have to attend both sessions in order to receive a certificate.

We are offering the following dates:

Course 1

Part 1: 11th August, 1.30 – 5pm
Part 2: 12th August, 11am – 12.30pm

Book your place.

Course 2

Part 1: 18th August, 1.30 – 5pm
Part 2: 19th August, 11am – 12.30pm

Book your place.

There are various tasks to complete before the course, including:

  1. Group 2 Core, Safeguarding & Child e-learning module
  2. Managing Allegations in the Workplace and Role of the LADO e-learning module
  3. Big Quiz

(Please note: you don’t have to do Task 1 and Task 2 if you’ve completed these DCFP courses in the last 3 years).

Once you have booked onto the course (using one of the links above), you will be sent an email giving you details of what’s involved with information about the various tasks you need to complete as home study.

As mentioned above, if you do not attend both parts of the course and the course home study sections, you will not receive a certificate because the course will not be compliant with the requirements of “Working Together to Safeguard Children” 2018 or the intercollegiate document “Safeguarding Children and Young People: Roles and Compencies for Healthcare Staff” 2019.

If you are unable to attend either of the above courses, look out for future courses as these will be advertised on our website very soon. Please forward to anyone you think would be interested in attending.
