MATHS & MUD! Enabling effective early maths skills experiences, through sensory learning opportunities (23 March – Colyton)
Monday 23rd March 2020, 6.30pm-8.30pm at Colyton Caterpillars Early Education, Colyton, Devon, EX24 6PU
Led by experienced Early Years Teacher and HE Lecturer (FdA Early Childhood), Hannah O’Donnell.
This 2 hour Early Years CPD workshop looks at the importance of access to and enhancement of multi-sensory play provision and experiences both outside and in, within settings and schools, (water tables, sand trays/ pits, mud and dirt!), in order to enable young children to develop their core mathematical skills and understanding of key early mathematical concepts, vital for later formal learning and positive learning behaviours.
It will specifically look at how sensory play provision and experiences can elevate young children’s early mathematical and conceptual understanding, skills and why this directly impacts upon later learning, in terms of the breadth and depth of their mathematical skills, understanding and application.
Suitable for: Early Years practitioners, Managers, Teachers, childminders, TA’s & those working with 0-5 age group.
Cost: £20 per delegate (plus £2.15 booking fee).
