Local Authority Designated Officer contact information

Every local authority has a statutory responsibility to have a Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) who is responsible for co-ordinating the response to concerns that an adult who works with children may have caused them or could cause them harm.

If settings are asked by Ofsted inspectors for Devon’s named LADO, please give the following response as to how the LADO system operates in Devon:

LADOs do not have their personal names and contact information available because a named individual may not be on duty at the time of contact and therefore the enquiry may not be seen straight away.

The LADO referral form is the preferred method of contact but the team can also offer advice over the phone: 01392 384964.
