Change made: Updated the ‘Protocol between Ofsted and services managed by local authorities: early years’. For clarity, the following protocols have been brought together in one overarching protocol which sets out how we work with local authorities in relation to early years providers: the protocol between Ofsted and local authorities with environmental health responsibility, the protocol between Ofsted and building control departments, the protocol between Ofsted and local authority children services and the protocol between Ofsted and Local Safeguarding Children Boards. We have also added the ‘Protocol between Ofsted and services managed by local authorities: children’s social care providers’.
After-school clubs, community activities and tuition: safeguarding guidance for providers
Safeguarding guidance for providers of activities, after-school clubs, tuition and other out-of-school settings.
Change made: We have updated the safeguarding guidance for providers of after-school clubs, community activities and tuition. These updates reflect the guidance on keeping children safe in education and new legislation such as positions of trust, as well as findings from the out-of-school settings multi-agency pilot scheme, which have been made in collaboration with representatives from the sector and safeguarding partners. We have also added links to download a guide, leaflets and posters.
