Keeping children safe in education (KCSiE)

The Department for Education (DfE) have released the latest version of the keeping children safe in education document which comes into force from September 2022. The key changes to this document are detailed in Annex F.

Whilst this is a mandatory for schools and colleges, the EYFS also makes reference to this document and we advise that all providers follow this document.

One of the key changes that will effect early years is in safer recruitment where there is greater clarity around the use of CV’s in paragraph 241 which states ‘only accept copies of a curriculum vitae alongside an application form. A curriculum vitae on its own will not provide adequate information’. There are also links to some helpful toolkits and information e.g. harmful sexual behaviour, county lines, forced marriage etc.
