Child safety awareness week: 1st – 7th June 2020
Child Safety Week (1 – 7 June), will look very different this year with lockdown, the Child Accident Prevention Trust are very aware that there have been serious concerns about child safety during this difficult period. Disrupted family life, child care and unfamiliar routines, unusual work pattern, overcrowded accommodation for many; all these and more can contribute to increased home safety risks, especially for younger children and families under pressure.
They are already hearing how lockdown is increasing serious accidental injury to children, particularly from burns. In the wider community they know that there are real concerns about speeding drivers taking advantage of quieter roads, despite the presence of children and families taking daily exercise.
