On December 14th, 2022, the Cabinet approved this year’s Childcare Sufficiency Report. The Annual Childcare Sufficiency Report (September 2021 to August 2022) includes all the required areas that we must report on in relation to early years and childcare provision for 0 – 17-year-olds in Devon.

The Childcare Choices campaign aims to raise awareness and understanding of the support available from the government with the costs of childcare.

The Devon Early Years and Childcare Service can help early years providers in Devon to advertise job adverts at a subsidised rate.

Fully funded speech, language and communication workshops for all community members who come into contact with carers of children aged 0-3 years of age. Workshops are running across Devon from January 2023.

We are currently seeing an increase in notifications of scarlet fever in the community. Please see national communication from UKHSA.

Updates include: ‘Early Years Recovery programme – level 3 qualification review’; ‘Changes to the early years educator level 3 criteria’; ‘Guides for parents: how early years settings are inspected’; ‘National school breakfast club programme’; ‘Early years foundation stage profile results: 2021 to 2022’; ‘Statistics: early years foundation stage profile’ and ‘Evidence summary: COVID-19 – children, young people and education settings’.

Please check that paediatric first aid certificates are up to date. They must be renewed every 3 years.
