We have been monitoring our carbon footprint since 2005 using the International Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard methodology.
The baseline year for our carbon footprint was reset in 2012 due to significant changes to the size of the organisation which meant that previous years’ data were no longer comparable.
Our carbon footprint is currently 36% below 2012 levels. The authority’s Greenhouse Gas Report is available at Annex 1 of the annual Environmental Performance Statement.
We have made a commitment to reduce our carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030, including those arising from our purchasing of goods and services.
