SEND Transformation STARS
The SEND STARS, or SEND Transformation Advocate Representatives, are a group of staff representatives from Devon County Council, Babcock and Children and Family Health Devon who work with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The STARS have all volunteered to play a key role in the SEND Transformation programme. They are members of the Staff Reference Group, and provide an important link between the programme and the wider staff team to ensure all voices are heard throughout the process and that new ideas, knowledge and expertise from those working on the ground can be shared and taken into consideration.
Through their involvement in the programme, SEND STARS have the chance to change the lives of children and young people with SEND by helping to steer the project, shaping the outcomes and ensuring staff across the county have a shared understanding of the vision for SEND services in Devon.
They have a unique opportunity to influence the future of Devon’s SEND provision and ensure children, young people and their families receive the right care at the right time.
If you work with children and young people with SEND in Devon and would like to be involved, please speak to your line manager who can then discuss it with Chair of the SEND Transformation Staff Reference Group, Kate Stephens.
