The bar graph shows the total number of EHCPs in Devon, broken down by the primary need. The graph has bars for every year from 2017 until 2021.

In 2021, autism is the most common primary need for EHCPs. This is a total of 1,935 EHCPs.

Social, emotional, and mental health is the second most common primary need. This is a total of 1,903 EHCPs.

Speech, language, and communication is the third most common primary need. This is a total of 1,552 EHCPs.

Moderate learning disability is the fourth most common primary need. This is a total of 797 EHCPs.

Physical disability is the fifth most common primary need. This is a total of 346 EHCPs.

Severe learning disability is the sixth most common primary need. This is a total of 323 EHCPs.

Specific learning disability is the seventh most common primary need. This is a total 168 EHCPs.

Visual impairment, profound and multiple learning disabilities, hearing impairment and multi-sensory impairment are the remaining primary needs and these are all below 170 EHCPs individually.

The graph shows how autism, social, emotional and mental health needs and speech, language and communication needs have all increased the most significantly since 2017.
