{"id":2403,"date":"2019-05-02T12:26:23","date_gmt":"2019-05-02T11:26:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/?page_id=2403"},"modified":"2023-02-06T17:16:33","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T17:16:33","slug":"doing-what-matters-aims","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/business-support\/completed-business-support-projects\/doing-what-matters-communities-grants-fund\/doing-what-matters-aims\/","title":{"rendered":"DWM &#8211; aims"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3673 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2021\/02\/DWM-LOGO-LARGE-1-300x117.jpg\" alt=\"Doing What Matters logo\" width=\"300\" height=\"117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2021\/02\/DWM-LOGO-LARGE-1-300x117.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2021\/02\/DWM-LOGO-LARGE-1-800x313.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2021\/02\/DWM-LOGO-LARGE-1-768x301.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/68\/2021\/02\/DWM-LOGO-LARGE-1.jpg 828w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>Strategic aim<\/h2>\n<p>In line with DCC\u2019s strategic priorities and challenges, the focus of the 2019\/20 Doing What Matters Community Grant Fund is connecting people in a positive, fulfilling and inclusive way; tackling and reducing loneliness and undesired isolation in all their forms and across all age groups.<\/p>\n<p>The Council intends the fund to be utilised for bids which help:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to build relationships and connections locally, across all age groups<\/li>\n<li>people become more physically active<\/li>\n<li>people take notice of their local environment<\/li>\n<li>to develop opportunities for culture, creativity or learning<\/li>\n<li>to support giving across local people and communities, including volunteering<\/li>\n<li>to make people feel safer locally<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Who can apply?<\/h2>\n<p>This grant is open to legally constituted and registered as a not-for-private-profit organisations <strong>who are seeking funds for a new project over and above their existing business as usual activity<\/strong>. This includes voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSE), town and parish councils, charities and businesses.
