This includes the first new town in Devon since medieval times, next generation business parks, and a community energy centre.<\/p>\n<div id=\"main-container\">\n<div class=\"main wrapper clearfix\">\n<div class=\"content clearfix\">\n<p>Devon County Council has worked in partnership with the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (HotSW LEP) and East Devon District Council to develop the Exeter &amp; East Devon Enterprise Zone within the Growth Point.<\/p>\n<p>This will provide business rate relief for new and growing businesses, worth up to \u00a355,000 per business year on year, for up to 5 years. More information can be found on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/eastdevon.gov.uk\/business-and-investment\/enterprise-zone\/\" rel=\"noopener\">East Devon District Council website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<article><\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Skypark<\/h2>\n<p>Adjacent to Exeter International Airport,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.skyparkexeter.co.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Exeter\u2019s Skypark<\/a>\u00a0is a new generation of business park combining office, industrial and distribution space with hotel, local facilities and a biomass and gas combined heat and power plant.<\/p>\n<p>Skypark is predicted to have a significant positive impact on the local economy as part of the wider Exeter and East Devon Growth Point Initiative, with the creation of up to 6,500 jobs over the next 20 years. Skypark is one of the key sites in the Enterprise Zone.<\/p>\n<h2>Exeter Science Park<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.exetersciencepark.co.uk\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Exeter Science Park<\/a> is situated in a 64-acre site, at Junction 29 of the M5 motorway, with convenient access to Exeter Airport and the city of Exeter. The train station at Pinhoe is a short distance away, with buses every 10 minutes to and from the city, and designated cycle routes.<\/p>\n<p>The park offers high quality offices and laboratories for start-up, growing and established STEMM businesses, a programme of business focussed events, an onsite innovation and accelerator partner and wider ecosystem support helping businesses to succeed.<\/p>\n<p>With a conference and meeting suite with onsite catering for up to 200 people, major tech, finance and sector bodies chose the science park as their main event venue.<\/p>\n<p>A new sustainable 142 room hotel, voco Zeal Exeter Science Park, with restaurant, bar and gym, brings even more choice and amenities for businesses and organisations based at the Park.<\/p>\n<h2>Roundswell Enterprise Park<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/infrastructure\/northern-devon-business-park-and-enterprise-centre\/\">Roundswell Enterprise Park<\/a>\u00a0is being developed on the edge of Barnstaple to provide high-quality workspace and business support to SME businesses focused on those with high growth\/value potential.<\/p>\n<h3>Node<\/h3>\n<p>Located on Roundswell Enterprise Park, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/economy\/infrastructure\/node\/\">Node<\/a> offers high-quality office, coworking and collaboration space for entrepreneurs, business start-ups, and small and medium-sized businesses.<\/p>\n<h2>Strategic employment sites<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to developments at the Growth Point, and management of the Council\u2019s own Industrial Estate Portfolio, the team is currently working to bring forward two strategic employment sites in West and North Devon, utilising land owned by DCC, and in response to identified economic need.<\/p>\n<h3>Okehampton East Business Park<\/h3>\n<p>This site comprises c.12 net developable acres for which outline planning consent has been secured for mixed business use. Infrastructure works have been completed and all the plots are now under offer to a good mix of mainly local and expanding businesses. The site when fully developed out has the potential to support more than 400 jobs.<\/p>\n<h2>Energy projects<\/h2>\n<p>Devon is one of 50 local authorities across the UK to deliver Net Zero Living Places, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Devon has been awarded \u00a3300,000 over 3 years to attract more &#8220;green finance&#8221; into the county to help deliver actions identified in the Devon Carbon Plan <a href=\"https:\/\/eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdevonclimateemergency.org.uk%2Fdevon-carbon-plan%2F&amp;data=05%7C02%7CChristopher.Davy%40devon.gov.uk%7C7b28c0aaa8c8414722a408dcf369b8cb%7C8da13783cb68443fbb4b997f77fd5bfb%7C0%7C0%7C638652882601713491%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=iOAEA5zlNtSmerl6zanQlsFx7kQHpxBu8wkBEXJX1W8%3D&amp;reserved=0\" rel=\"noopener\">Devon Carbon Plan \u2013 Devon Climate Emergency<\/a> The funding will help harness new investment opportunities to support innovative activity which will enable Net Zero commitments to be delivered in the county. Procurement for scheme delivery is expected to be launched in early 2018.<\/p>\n<h2>Transport lobbying and resilience<\/h2>\n<p>We work closely with our colleagues in transport planning to ensure that, where possible, Devon\u2019s growth is not hindered by transport constraints. This includes lobbying central government and rail providers as well as providing economic evidence to support proposals.<\/p>\n<h2>One Public Estate Partnership<\/h2>\n<p>Devon County Council serves as the managing authority for the Devon and Torbay One Public Estate (OPE) Partnership. The OPE Partnership is a collaboration between local authorities and public sector bodies to deliver strategic public land use, housing, and co-location projects.
