The main construction phase of the next section of the E4 Cycle Route, phase 2B on Exhibition Way and Pinhoe Road, is due to start on Monday 6 January 2020 and is anticipated to be completed in summer 2020.
Some advance work on this phase was undertaken in December 2019, at the northern end of Exhibition Way between the railway bridge and Summerway. This section of work started on Monday 2 December and was completed on Friday 20 December 2019.
Remaining activities in this area include footway resurfacing and street lighting work which will be done early in 2020.

Traffic management
To ensure the safety of the construction workers and road users throughout the duration of the contract, the work site will be protected using a variety of traffic management techniques such as temporary traffic signals, lane closures and footway diversions.
