As every teacher knows, in order to learn successfully children must feel happy and secure within the school environment
The aim of the SEAL materials is to provide schools with an explicit, structured curriculum framework and resource for teaching social, emotional and behavioural skills as a whole school approach for all pupils, not just those with challenging behaviour.

This school self review document has been developed by the DfES to enable schools to accurately assess where they are with the implementation and development of SEAL. This could be used as a basis for an action plan and/or as part of the SEF.
