As a councillor, your constituents will look to you to have a wide-ranging knowledge of the Council, something we will help and support you in achieving, but there are also opportunities for you to develop specialisations on topics which interest you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, in addition to the numerous committees covering areas such as highways, climate change, waste, planning, health and adult social care, children\u2019s services and education, there are many topic-based working groups and panels, such as\u202fScrutiny Task Groups<\/a>, which you may be able to participate in. The Council is also asked to appoint councillors to\u202fOutside Bodies<\/a>, which can be local organisations, county wide groups\u202for even regional or national bodies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
