{"id":743,"date":"2013-03-08T14:00:28","date_gmt":"2013-03-08T14:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/democracy\/?post_type=tb_guides&#038;p=743"},"modified":"2018-05-08T12:08:03","modified_gmt":"2018-05-08T11:08:03","slug":"part-4-how-can-i-find-out-when-a-meeting-is-to-be-held","status":"publish","type":"tb_guides","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/democracy\/guide\/a-guide-to-committee-meetings\/part-4-how-can-i-find-out-when-a-meeting-is-to-be-held\/","title":{"rendered":"Part 4"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The County Council is required by law to give a minimum of\u00a05 days\u2019 notice of most meetings and allow access to certain\u00a0types of information.\u00a0The dates and times of most of the Committees are shown\u00a0in the Council\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/democracy.devon.gov.uk\/mgCalendarMonthView.aspx?GL=1&amp;bcr=1\" rel=\"noopener\">Calendar of Meetings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors should report to County Hall Reception who will\u00a0direct you to where the meeting is taking place. The calendar\u00a0may not include the dates of all such meetings or of working\u00a0parties\/task groups, as some are arranged at short notice, as\u00a0and when required. If you are interested in a meeting that\u00a0does not appear on the calendar, please contact the\u00a0Democratic Services and Scrutiny Secretariat:-\u00a0Tel:\u00a001392 382264 or email:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:members.services@devon.gov.uk\">members.services@devon.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Copies of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/cma\">agenda and reports<\/a> of the Cabinet, Scrutiny and\u00a0main Committees are also published online It is difficult to say how long a meeting will last or when a\u00a0particular matter will be discussed.<\/p>\n<p>If you are interested in a\u00a0matter that is to be discussed at a meeting it is best to come\u00a0along for the start of the meeting.
