{"id":16480,"date":"2021-02-16T16:42:40","date_gmt":"2021-02-16T16:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/coronavirus-advice-in-devon\/?page_id=16480"},"modified":"2021-02-17T13:15:48","modified_gmt":"2021-02-17T13:15:48","slug":"vaccination-eligibility-checklist","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/coronavirus-advice-in-devon\/children-education-and-families\/vaccination-eligibility-checklist\/","title":{"rendered":"Vaccination eligibility checklist for health and social care workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Eligibility checklist for health and social care workers that have self-declared for vaccination through the national booking system<\/h2>\n<p>From 10 February, healthcare workers and community based social care workers in priority group 2 are able to book to receive their vaccination appointments in a vaccination centre or community pharmacy through the NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Booking Service (online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhs.uk\" rel=\"noopener\">www.nhs.uk<\/a> or by ringing 119). To book, they need to self-declare they are a health or social care worker.<\/p>\n<h3>When the individual arrives for their appointment<\/h3>\n<p>They should verbally declare to the person at the vaccination site that is booking them in that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>they are a health or social care worker<\/li>\n<li>the type of role\/work they do<\/li>\n<li>the name of their employer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The person should also show further proof of employment as a health or social care worker such as one of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A recent letter from their employer<\/li>\n<li>A staff ID badge<\/li>\n<li>A recent (last 3 months) payslip which shows their employer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The individual should be informed, by the person recoding their vaccination, that it will be recorded that they are a health or social care worker.<\/p>\n<h3>Who are eligible frontline social care or health care workers in England?<\/h3>\n<p>People that have direct contact with patients, clients or service users at higher risk from coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/p>\n<p>Health workers, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you work in a clinical role (such as a doctor or nurse)<\/li>\n<li>you have contact in a non-clinical role (such as a receptionist or porter)<\/li>\n<li>you work in a hospital laboratory, mortuary or a funeral home<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Social care workers, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>you are a registered professional in social care (such as a social worker or nurse)<\/li>\n<li>you work in residential care, nursing care or in supported living<\/li>\n<li>you provide personal care for people in their homes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following community based social care workers are included as eligible:<\/p>\n<div class=\"table-scroll\"><table style=\"border-collapse: collapse; width: 100%;\" border=\"1\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<th style=\"width: 50%;\" scope=\"col\">Occupational group<\/th>\n<th style=\"width: 50%;\" scope=\"col\">Example of role<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">Direct care &#8211; These roles involve directly working with people who need care and support<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Activities worker<\/li>\n<li>Care worker<\/li>\n<li>Personal Assistant<\/li>\n<li>Rehabilitation, reablement, enablement worker<\/li>\n<li>Shared lives Carer<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy worker<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">Management of care and residential setting &#8211; These roles involve managerial responsibility for a small team, or a whole service.<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Team leader or supervisor<\/li>\n<li>Manager<\/li>\n<li>Deputy Manager or team leader<\/li>\n<li>Specialist coordinator, such as Dementia or end of life care coordinator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">Social care support \u2013 These roles<br \/>\nprovide direct support and<br \/>\nadministrative functions<\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Housing support Officer<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer coordinator<\/li>\n<li>Social care prescriber\/Care Navigator<\/li>\n<li>Welfare rights<\/li>\n<li>Employment advisor<\/li>\n<li>Administration roles including finance, HR<br \/>\nmarketing<\/li>\n<li>Trainer or assessor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 50%;\">Ancillary staff in care and residential homes &#8211;
