Planning applications and decisions

Last Updated 4:57pm, 1 June 2020

Introduction

Information about coronavirus is available in different formats and languages, including easy read, BSL and for people who are not online.

The decision making process

In line with advice from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, planning authorities have been asked to continue to provide the best service possible and prioritise decision-making to ensure the planning system continues to function, especially where this will support the local economy.

At present planning staff have limited access to printing facilities and, as a result, written notifications to members of the public relating to active planning applications, consultations etc. may not be able to be sent.

While planning applications can be viewed online, we regret that it is not currently possible for copies to be viewed at council offices. As a result, we would advise all members of the public, with an interest in specific planning applications, to track the progress of these applications online by visiting planning.devon.gov.uk and using either the standard search or the ‘advanced search’ functions which are available in this location.
