Applications to the third round of the COVID-19 Fund are now closed
Devon County Council reopened the COVID-19 Fund on 11 January 2021 to provide flexible resources to organisations working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus. The deadline to apply was noon on Friday 5 March 2021.
Applications are accepted from voluntary and community sector organisations, social enterprises, town and parish councils, charities and businesses. Find out more about the Fund and apply.
Financial hardship funds
Devon County Council has allocated one million pounds in grant funding to support people who need short-term emergency assistance to afford basic living essentials. The funding is being administered by the district councils who will provide small grants to people who need help. Contact your district council or refer to the list of grant schemes.

Heart of the South West Growth Hub
The Growth Hub is the business advice service for Devon, Plymouth, Torbay and Somerset.
District councils in Devon are administering the government grant schemes for businesses affected by the national lockdown restrictions.
Devon Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund
Devon Community Foundation has set up the Devon Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund to raise funds for local charitable groups that are supporting the most vulnerable people affected by the outbreak of coronavirus. CURRENTLY PAUSED
East Devon Coronavirus Community Food Fund
Grants between £500 and £2,500 for projects related to providing food to residents of east Devon who are in food poverty during Covid-19.
Exeter COVID-19 Community Action Fund
Will support groups and organisations with a one-off grant of up to £1,000 to support projects for community-led activities.

Businesses should visit the Heart of the South West Growth Hub for advice and information on any financial support, including details of the Government schemes for businesses and the self-employed.

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme – extended until September 2021
The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) – also known as the Furlough scheme – will now remain open until the end of September 2021, with employees receiving 80% of their current salary for hours not worked, up to a maximum of £2,500

New payments for businesses taking on apprentices
A £2 billion fund to create 6-month work placements aimed at those aged 16 to 24 who are on Universal Credit and are deemed to be at risk of long-term unemployment
Self Employment Income Support Scheme – extended until September 2021
Grants for self-employed people who have a loss of earnings due to coronavirus. The fourth grant (covering 1 February to 30 April 2021) must be claimed before 1 June 2021.

Emergency funding for charities and voluntary organisations facing acute financial difficulties or providing support for people and communities affected by COVID-19.

Technology support for children and young people
Local authorities, academy trusts and schools can apply for digital devices for disadvantaged children in certain year groups who are affected by disruption to face-to-face education at their school, or have been advised to shield because they are clinically extremely vulnerable.

Arts Council National Lottery Project Grants
The programme is re-opening to help fund individual artists and a broad range of arts organisations including museums and libraries
Authors’ Emergency Fund
Professional authors who are resident in the UK or British subjects – including all types of writers, illustrators, literary translators, scriptwriters, poets, journalists and others.
Support for Theatre Professionals during Coronavirus
A collection of funds and sources of advice or support for those in the theatre industry. Funds are available from institution specific funders and from those that support the wider industry.

A set of three grant schemes to help sports clubs and organisations to put in place measures to help people take part in sports and physical activities in a coronavirus-safe way
Community Leisure Recovery Fund | Sport England
Grants to enable community-owned leisure centres to re-open and become viable once lockdown restrictions are lifted. Apply by 29 April 2021
