As far as possible, children with health needs and who are unable to attend school should receive the same range and quality of education as they would have experienced at their home school<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We work closely with medical professionals and the child\u2019s family. We will consider the medical evidence from both clinical consultants and GPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Education Inclusion Service provides more information about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.devon.gov.uk\/support-schools-settings\/inclusion\/education-inclusion-service\/support-for-pupils-with-health-needs\/\">accessing education for children with long-term illness<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Devon\u2019s policy on education for children with additional health needs, unable to attend school is currently undergoing a review, to ensure it aligns with statutory guidance and internal processes. The school teaches on two sites:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bramble Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Exeter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Caroline Thorpe Ward at the North Devon District Hospital, Barnstaple.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This school aims to provide continuity of education and works with children, families, medical professionals and schools to do this.
