They can take between 1 and 4 years to complete depending on their level. As an apprentice, you will be working at least 30 hours per week and will receive pay at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/national-minimum-wage\" rel=\"noopener\">National Minimum Wage<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be studying for a national qualification either in your place of work or classroom-based, this can be for one day a week or perhaps on a block release basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Levels of apprenticeship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Apprenticeships have equivalent educational levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Intermediate or Level 2 is the equivalent of 5 GCSE passes at grades 4 to 9 (or A* to C).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advanced or Level 3 is equivalent to 2 A-level passes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Higher or Levels 4,5,6 and 7 are equivalent to a foundation degree or above.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Degree or Levels 6 and 7 are equivalent to a bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can apply?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can apply for an apprenticeship while you\u2019re still at school. To start one, you\u2019ll need to be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>16 or over<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not in full-time education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>living in England<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The key points about apprenticeships<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will work alongside experienced staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You gain job-specific skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You earn a wage and get holiday pay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You study towards a related qualification (usually one day a week).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apprenticeships are not the same as going to university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Some careers do not have apprenticeship pathways.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Find an apprenticeship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Colleges in Devon offer apprenticeships courses.
