A massive thank you to everyone who helped promote the vote, to the 30+ schools and youth groups that signed up and took part, and, of course, to the 2,780 of you who voted in Make Your Mark and the Devon ballot!

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Make Your Mark 2025. Over 7,000 young people from across Devon voted during March, and we can now reveal that the top voted issue was \u2018Places to go, things to do\u2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20% of those who took part made their top priority \u2018Places to go, things to do\u2019, believing that all young people in Devon should be able to access \u201caffordable activities and places in our local areas; somewhere to go with friends for fun, relaxation and to try new things\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mental health<\/strong> and public transport<\/strong> came second and third in the ballot, receiving 16% and 13% of the votes respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the top issue, one Devon Youth Council member said, “This is such an important topic. There’s nothing to do for young people in so many places in Devon; we’re just stuck at home. So, it would be great to see this improve.”<\/em>

More than 30 schools and youth groups hosted ballots, with 7,160 young people across Devon casting a vote.

The full breakdown of the results is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Mental health support \u2013 1,173<\/strong> (16%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Public transport \u2013 957<\/strong> (13%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Vaping and smoking \u2013 716<\/strong> (10%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Our future \u2013 701<\/strong> (10%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. The environment \u2013 684<\/strong> (10%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Safety and crime \u2013 488<\/strong> (7%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Poverty and inequality \u2013 488<\/strong> (7%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Inclusion \u2013 323<\/strong> (5%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Healthy relationships \u2013 181<\/strong> (3%)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
